How is this for a unique concept. I bet there was a lot of photographers resistant to be part of this project!
As seen on http://www.ocularoctopus.com/

In limiting editions, photography has fought against its natural inclinations to infinite reproduction since the invention of the paper negative. The cache and cash that goes along with a unique art work is an endless source of envy. The One Hour Photo project being exhibited at American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center in Washington D.C. takes the limited edition to its logical and ironic conclusion. Through June 6, the project will project one photograph per hour. At hour’s end, that photograph will never been seen again. The participating photographers have pledged to send their contributions to oblivion, never displaying, selling or showing the work again in any form. Thus, the edition is limited in both space and time.
We so often let photographs serve as our memory. Yet in this case, memory is all we have.
