Yesterday Garry was one of the three chosen photographers to participate in the very first Masterpiece Portrait Seminar along with the very talented Ric Syme and Stef King. For those of us in the audience it was thrilling to watch each photographer shoot the same sitter (a beautiful Sudanese girl - a first timer in front of the camera).
It was obvious that each of the photographers were able to put the model at ease quite quickly but what was more surprising was that they had to accomplish this in front of an audience of 100 industry professionals. It was also apparent that each photographer had a very unique vision for what they wanted to achieve with the final result.
A quick lunch break and then the audience was then privy to seeing how each photographer chose their favourite image though there was a lot of enthusiasm from the audience as to which they should select. From here we were taken on a ride through the editing of the images making them print ready, under the time constraints each of the photographers pulled out some beautiful work.
